Horizons Final Progress Update
5/5/2026
Here we are, in the last update I have to share before Horizons is released. Over the past little while, I've worked on polishing the completed songs and finishing the uncompleted songs. Songs I thought would be difficult to make, like Horizon, ended up being substantially easier to complete than I expected. With the release of the album being closer than ever, I want to take this update to share exciting news, answer some burning questions, and take a quick look back at how this album was made, from conceptualization to completion.
Let's start with the general overview of the album. Horizons is about a traveler waking up in a mysterious land and seeking out hope in the form of a lighthouse beacon. The album has 8 tracks, ranging in style and duration, and was announced all the way back in November of 2025.
Horizons was conceptualized on August 15, 2025, and progress was steadily worked upon for over 9 months. Not only is this release the longest-anticipated Senter release, it's also the first full Senter album that doesn't utilize any loops.
Now that I've spent three paragraphs hyping it up, your next question is probably "When can I hear it?"
I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that Horizons is releasing on May 26, 2026 - exactly 4 months from my previous release, Relief.
With this exciting announcement, you might be wondering if there's a way to hear a couple tracks a little early. If you poke around the website, there may be a way to hear one of the tracks right now...
Secondarily, you might be wondering if more merch will launch to go along with the release of the album. The answer for that is both yes and maybe. When the album releases, the digital download will be available immediately on Bandcamp and right here on the merch store for only $7.99. Other than that, you'll just have to wait and see... or pick up some of the Horizons merch that's already available.
To finish off this update, I’d like to walk through the overall timeline of how this album came together. It all began on August 15, when the name Horizons was first decided, along with a rough tracklist. At this stage, the story behind the album didn't even exist, and track names like Dusk and Dawn were originally thrown out as track name ideas, with Dawn even sharing its name with a track from Echoes Of Tethys’s Hypgnot. Within the following week, the original concept was ditched in exchange for the story concept. Early cover art sketches were made and the story direction started to take shape. The final tracklist was locked in around the same time after the short poem was written (including Crossing at the time), even though no actual songs had been produced yet.
On November 16, 2025, the album reveal video was released, featuring the only finished track at the time: Awakening. After that, no progress for about three months until January. In January, Relief was created and released, spurring my creativity. Around the same time that Awakening had been created, early ideas for Barren and Hope began forming, though they wouldn’t be fully developed until February — and in Barren’s case, much later in May.
From there, production gradually picked up pace. Dunes, Beacon, and Hope were completed first, followed by Distance and then Horizon. After that came Onward, and finally Barren — the same track featured in the release date reveal.
Here's an extra bit of info: my favorite track to work on was Horizon. As the final song on the album, it weaves in synths from each of the previous seven tracks alongside its own new sounds, acting as a full-circle finale that ties the entire plot together.
Overall, the album runs just under 22 minutes, marks the first Senter release to include a full narrative, and is easily the most ambitious project I’ve finished so far. I’m genuinely excited for it to finally be out in the world.
Now it's time to look forward to what's coming next. Even though Horizons has only just been released, I'm ready to start working on new music already. The next release I'll be working on is not mine, although my next release does already have a name... but I'm proud to announce that I'll be contributing my voice to Hypgnot: Deluxe! This is the first time my voice will be used in any release, but definitely not the last time... ;). Make of that what you will.
The last thing I want to say is thank you. Thank you so much for staying and waiting patiently as I (very slowly) worked on this release, and have very gradually made it the best, most complete release I've ever published as Senter.
See you soon, and get excited for May 26!
